Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree!

So Christmas is right around the corner, and I can not believe it is this time of the year again. Holiday shopping is underway, and one can't go to the shops without finding themselves neck deep in other shoppers loaded down with presents, gift wrap, ribbon, and screaming children. What is it about this time of year which brings out the "bratty" in kids? Wouldn't one think since Santa is coming the kids would want to be on their best behavior for fear of coal in the stockings? I am also having the hardest time shopping for Tony, he won't give me a list and everything else I know he wants is way out of our budget. This time of year also brings about stress. When I say that I mean of the family sort. Tony and I are struggling on how to go about family-time, and we decided to enjoy a Bed and Breakfast at the coast so as to show no favoritism towards either. Avoid all contact with any parents-yeah that's the way to do it...(Insert big SIGH here).
We also did do our holiday decorating-and we did put up my notorious "fake" tree. I decided, when I first moved out on my own, to buy a fake tree so I would not be taking home a poor innocent tree which was chopped down in the prime of its life to be decorated with twinkle lights and christmas baubles. So I invested in a fake one, and I/we have saved $50.00 a year since. I think it looks pretty, but I really wanted a real one this year because I love the smell of a fresh Douglas Fir. Josie even got into the festivities and played with the lights...Tony did surprise me with a small "Rosemary Tree"so I can re-plant it when the holidays are over. My motto-instead of chopping one down, plant one!

Well Happy Christmas/Holidays!
And don't forget why we actually celebrate Christmas. And I don't mean the presents!
(If we can believe that there is a Santa, why not that there is a Jesus!?)
